Coaching
Never stop learning; never stop growing.
It's an exciting time to be a marketer. We have more tools at our disposal than ever before. But it's easy to get distracted by shiny objects. Don't get me wrong. I love technology as much as I love traditional marketing tools. But without research, ambitious goals and objectives, solid strategies and enlightened executions, you're working with a blindfold.
Marketing Coaching
You know your business better than anyone. And I know marketing, well, pretty well. Whether you have some specific goals you'd like to accomplish or you're not sure where to start, it doesn't matter. I'll meet you where you are and we'll begin to build your business through better marketing.
I've worked with business people and marketers of all levels and abilities, and they've learned and grown significantly and quickly. We'll get to know each other, discuss your educational and marketing goals, and map out a plan to accomplish those goals. Of course, everything you share with me is strictly confidential.
Writing Coaching
I can play the piano...sort of. I took a few years of lessons. I know how to read music. I understand basic music theory. I have rhythm and I know note values. But I don't have the natural talent to be a concert pianist. However, I know that with practice and hard work, I could be good enough to play in church...or a bar.
Writing is very similar. Yes, it comes more easily and naturally to some people. But if you break it down into a process—research, brainstorming, outlining, organizing, writing, editing, revising, and proofreading—it's much easier to learn. Of course, it helps to understand transitions, sentence structure, parts of speech, grammar, punctuation, spelling and word choice—but those you can all look up!
I promise you that if you commit the work and the time, you will vastly improve your writing. And it will be easier and more fun than you'd think!
Here’s how it works:
Everyone learns differently—some by reading, some by listening, and some by doing their own work. But no matter what their learning style, everyone benefits from consistent, strategic, planned learning with exercises and activities to reinforce what they’ve learned. Depending on your needs, you can choose from two options:
Three-Month Contract, 4 sessions/month
We’ll meet by phone, Zoom, Teams, Google Hangouts or in person, working through a specific educational plan. You get one-on-one contact time during our 4 (approx. one-hour) sessions per month, plus approximately 4 hours per month of non-contact time including preparation and planning, reviewing any materials, and administrative time.
Six-Month Contract, 4 sessions/month
When you commit to six months, you'll save more then 16% over the 3-month contract rate. You get the same services included in the three-month contract. It's like getting a month free!
If you're still not sure, let's talk about it. Call or email me to set up a no-cost, no-strings-attached conference call to discuss a coaching relationship.
What's stopping you?
You may have concerns and questions, especially if you've never done anything like this before.
"How long before I see results?" I've seen people of all abilities improve significantly and quickly because we work on your specific challenges. You can learn as quickly as you'd like.
"Will this be difficult?" No, it will be fun! We'll get to know each other, we'll pinpoint areas for improvement, and you'll learn tons of tips and tricks to make you a better marketer or writer.
"Will there be work outside of sessions?" Yes, but it will usually be on your own projects. You may also need to research a topic, read an article or explore a topic related to your job.
"What will our sessions be like?" We’ll meet via phone, Skype or Google Hangouts to discuss a specific area of writing or marketing. We can work on your projects and even write content.
Bottom line—it's customized training designed just for you!
If you're still not sure, read what a former coaching client of mine, Laura Boyle, had to say:
"I couldn't really put into words why I wanted a marketing coach, but from the moment I spoke to Katrina on the phone, I knew I needed her guidance. She made me feel comfortable right away and could relate to all the issues I was having. She helped me evaluate my department, develop goals personally and professionally, and work through actual plans and strategies. She has an inspiring and upbeat personality that can motivate anyone to give a little more, dig a little deeper and create marketing plans that help you increase the value and overall engagement of your brand."
Another coaching client, a marketing director for a Washington D.C.-based distributor used the words "accessible," "authentic," and "acumen" to describe my coaching services.
If you or one of your employees is struggling to meet the demands of their job, I can help.
Katrina,
You were completely and totally right about how important persuasive writing is! Your class made me a better writer and I am now in charge of the newsletter at Philadelphia's Magic Gardens. My boss is so pleased with my writing that she went out of her way to find me another job marketing for a publishing company since she couldn't give me more hours. I feel like being offered this marketing job is a direct result of me taking your class. Thanks again for making me a better writer!
